We open overgrown Wilmington lots and trails with a compact track loader and forestry mulching head. We mulch dense shrubs and suitable smaller trees while working around the marked trees you want to keep. The shredded material stays on-site as mulch, and buried roots remain in the ground.
Best for overgrown lots, trails and selective clearing where an on-site mulch layer fits your plans.
Shred underbrush, woody shrubs and small trees; stems up to 7 inches assessed individually.
Controlled passes around the trees you want to keep.
Mulch processed on-site; root removal and hauling are separate.

Forestry Mulching in Leland, NC
A customer in Leland wanted to open up their wooded area, but dense underbrush and smaller trees blocked the way. We brought in our compact track loader with a forestry mulching head and worked around the trees marked to stay. We mulched the unwanted growth and left the material on the ground as mulch, making the space easier to walk and maintain. The owner was pleased with the work we did.

Our Forestry Mulching Process and Equipment
Our process uses an efficient mulching head mounted on a compact track loader to shred wood, underbrush and small to medium-sized trees, typically 5-7 inches in diameter. We work in controlled passes around marked trees, then reprocess thicker material into ground cover. Tree species, density and site conditions determine how we approach each stem.
Wax Myrtle, Greenbrier and Young Pine
Wax myrtle, yaupon, greenbrier and young pine can form a dense understory around Wilmington. We keep selected native screening and mulch the agreed growth according to stem size, density and access. Mulching does not eliminate every root, so follow-up maintenance may be needed.
Land Clearing Questions, Clear Answers.
Will forestry mulching remove roots and stumps?+
Mulching reduces suitable growth above ground and normally leaves buried roots in place. Stump grinding and root extraction are separate work. Tell us if the footprint will become a driveway or building area so we can plan the next preparation steps.
Can you keep selected trees?+
Yes. We mark the trees to keep and plan the work around their trunks and roots. We keep equipment, debris piles and grade changes out of protected tree areas. Keeping a tree also means protecting the ground that supports it.
Can you clear near a marsh, creek or wetland?+
We identify the upland work area and sensitive edges before equipment arrives. Land clearing or alteration in a coastal Area of Environmental Concern can require CAMA review, and wetlands may involve additional approvals. We assess those limits before work starts.
